What is lead climbing?  Unlike top rope climbing, the lead climber climbs with the rope secured from their harness and going directly to the belayer and not anchored to the top of the wall. The climber ascends the route, periodically clipping into quickdraws for anchoring.  The lead belayer plays a critical role in supplying necessary slack in the rope to allow the lead climber to clip and then removing any extra to secure them.

Participants must be 16 years of age or older, proficiently climbing at a 5.10 level, and be top rope verified in our gym. This clinic is $35 for members. $60 for non-members (day pass and rental gear not included). Registration is required as space is limited!
