In the Basic Belay Class you will work with our instructor and learn the technique of belaying. After taking the class and before your first time climbing, you will be required to take a belay test showing the staff that you have retained all the information and skills necessary. Taking this class and successfully passing the belay test will enable you to belay climbers in the gym.
This course takes approximately an hour and a half. Rental gear and day pass are not included in class fee.
Course Prerequisite: participants must be at least 14 years old

The instructor will be on the ground working with the belay class. If there is more than one person in the class, no problem. The class participants can climb for each other.

Have you reached a plateau and aren’t sure what the next step in your climbing is? Check out our Intermediate Movement Clinic. If you are having a hard time moving up to a V2/5.10, this clinic will help develop your repertoire of moves and have you sending with style in no time. This class will cover movement styles found in climbs up from V2/5.10 through V5/5.12. All instruction will take place in the bouldering area, but skills and techniques learned will apply to your roped climbing. Participants must be 14 years of age or older.

This clinic is $10 for members, which goes towards dues for the next billing period if you attend the class.  $10 for non-members (day pass and rental gear not included). Registration is required as space is limited!
