Homeschool Friday
May 24 @ 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

If you are a Homeschooler, aged 5-17, join us for Homeschool Friday. Identify what Homeschool Network you belong with to receive the discounted rate of $10 for the pass with rental gear included. Please note you need to be aware of our youth supervision policies, click HEREfor our youth specific rules. Spread the word so we can keep this great deal going in the Spring!

Schedule:
Every Friday of the Fall Semester from 12 – 3 pm.
Runs from August 24 – December 14, excludes November 23.

Top Out Clinic
May 24 @ 1:00 pm – 1:30 pm

This clinic is specifically designed for, and required for, youth under the age of 14 who want to learn how to top out in our bouldering area. It takes approximately 30 minutes. A parent or court appointed legal guardian must be present.

Course topics:
• How to fall
• Proper top-out techniques
• Downclimbing
• Active spotting
• Review of River Rock bouldering policies

Pricing:
This clinic is $1 (day pass and rental gear not included).

Friday, 1pm
Saturday and Sunday, 3:30pm

Scheduled Group
May 24 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

The Cove area of the gym will be closed for a large group from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. There is still plenty of climbing, trust us.

Top Out Clinic
May 25 @ 3:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Belay Class
May 25 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

In the Basic Belay Class you will work with our instructor and learn the technique of belaying. After taking the class and before your first time climbing, you will be required to take a belay test showing the staff that you have retained all the information and skills necessary. Taking this class and successfully passing the belay test will enable you to belay climbers in the gym.
This course takes approximately an hour and a half. Rental harness and shoes are provided in course fee if needed.
Course Prerequisite: participants must be at least 14 years old

FREE – River Rock Members
$25 non-members
$50 for class with a 1-week membership included – this great deal begins the day you take your belay class. All the benefits to being a member are included; you can come take one of our many instructional or fitness classes, not to mention coming back to climb as many times as you’d like within the 1 week time frame. When you return to become belay verified bring a friend! You get 1 free guest pass (rental gear included) with the 1-week membership, so when you test out you now have a climbing partner you can belay!

Thursday 7 pm
Saturday/Sunday 4 pm

Be aware: It is really hard to teach someone how to belay without a person at the other end of the rope. The River Rock can’t provide you a climber to take the belay class. The instructor will be on the ground working with the belay class. If there is more than one person in the class, no problem. The class participants can climb for each other.
If you are the only person registered you will need to provide a climber. We will not charge for your climber during the class time and will provide them with all of the equipment necessary. Contact the gym if you have any questions (540) 685-2360.

Sunday Boulders & Brunch
May 26 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Looking for like-minded people to climb with? Join us for Boulders & Brunch, every Sunday morning from 10am to noon. All skill levels are welcome! Often a staff member will be around to climb with you and offer any tips to get you on the wall and having a good time. After climbing head over to brunch next door at the Wasena City Tap Room (it’s quite delicious!).

If you are not a member of the gym we have a special $10 pass with rental gear included from 10am-noon.

Best Sunday morning ever? Most certainly!

Slackline Sunday
May 26 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Every Sunday from 5 – 8 pm try out slacklining. Increase your balance and have fun while you do it! Just $10 and includes a pass to climb from 5-8 pm and rental gear if you need it – climb or slackline, your choice.
